Deputy General Manager – Cambridge – 42-55k Salary Per Annum
Are you ready to take on a leadership role in delivering exceptional hospitality services? We are seeking a proactive and experienced Deputy General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations and ensure the highest standards of service and product delivery.
Role Overview
As Deputy General Manager, you will manage the daily operations of hospitality services, ensuring clients receive outstanding service within budgetary constraints. You will work closely with colleagues to anticipate and resolve operational issues, while maintaining compliance with departmental, organisational, and legal requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing all operational matters, including staffing, training, recruitment, and organisational decisions.
- Managing budgets, financial controls, and purchasing, while proactively addressing potential issues.
- Ensuring compliance with policies and legal standards.
- Delivering quality hospitality services that meet and exceed customer expectations.
Role Purpose
You will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality hospitality services, ensuring customer needs are met and requirements are fulfilled. This includes:
- Line management of key team members, including the Head Chef, Food & Beverage Manager, Guest Services Manager, and Housekeeping Manager.
- Overseeing duty management functions as part of the senior team.
- Leading staff-related activities such as scheduling, recruitment, induction, probation reviews, appraisals, and training & development.
- Communicating best-practice standards to operational staff to maintain high levels of customer service.
Main Duties
Operational Management
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of hospitality services, including Duty Management, Housekeeping, Reception, Drivers and Portering, and Food & Beverage Service.
- Ensure sufficient operational cover across all departments to meet business needs within agreed budgets.
- Monitor departmental financial targets and ensure compliance.
- Maintain and enforce up-to-date operations manuals for all departments.
- Resolve problems and disputes effectively.
- Oversee the contract for Night Security/Porter provision.
